Dr. Marwan Abu Ebeid drives digital transformation within the construction industry to implement innovative technologies. Marwan has made a global impact by leveraging digitalization to transform industry enterprise levels, back-end systems, expense tracking, innovation, and automation, resulting in growth and advancement. He has spearheaded major construction projects with global impact, including the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, EXPO 2020, Dubai International Financial Center, Downtown Dubai, and more. In 2022, Marwan received the Excellence and Creative Engineering Award in UAE for efforts to ensure the sustainable prosperity of the UAE while also remaining abreast with evolving methodologies and engineering development. In the same year, he authored 2 of the seven chapters of the National Smart Construction Guidelines for the entire UAE Government. The step-by-step guide outlined BIM and blockchain integration processes applicable to both the private and government sectors of construction. Marwan serves as a founding member of the UK-funded Center of Excellence (CESC) research center responsible for establishing the UK’s CESC within the UAE. His efforts earned him recognition from the Scottish government and a subsequent invitation to view several technology research centers. Marwan also serves as a Board member of the Society of Engineers in the UAE – Digital Engineering Chapter and as an Advisory Board Member for the American University of Sharjah (AUS) and the University of Sharjah (UoS). Marwan received his Ph.D. and Master of Science degrees in Construction Project Management from Heriot-Watt University in the UK. He holds a Certificate from Harvard University in Driving Digital Strategies and two certificates from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Digital Transformation Smart Cities.
