Steve Wake is one of Project Controls best known movers and shakers.

He works tirelessly to keep the profession up to date and relevant.

Above all he wants project management to be a life-skill for all and supports anyone and everyone who shares this vision.

Tony Chisnall joined DE&S in November 2016 in an interim capacity as Director General Programmes.

Prior to this, Tony was Vice President at Abu Dhabi Airports, with accountability for the delivery of a complex £2bn programme to upgrade the entire airfield infrastructure including supporting systems and processes ready for the opening of the new Midfield Terminal Complex. Working closely with the operational teams and airline operators, Tony was accountable for all aspects of project delivery from inception through to in service and maintenance.

At Abu Dhabi airports, Tony initially operated in the capacity of Vice President for Technical Support, with functional responsibility for design and engineering, plus construction and compliance. As part of this role, Tony led the integration of an independent government project delivery body into the airport operating company. This included the roll out of a new operating model and Management system together, with a supporting compliance framework; this enabled the transition of the project delivery operation into a customer facing organisation.

Tony first moved to the Middle East at Laing O'Rourke as a Programme Manager in their Middle East project management services business. He led a project to implement a Programme Management Office for the UAE military's capital projects group. This included the implementation of an operating model, supporting processes and procedures, together with structured training for c 1,000 military personal involved in the delivery of capital projects across UAE.

Before this, Tony was employed by BAA operating in a variety of senior leadership roles. As Terminal 5 Commercial Director, he delivered c £4.0 bn of Final accounts prior to terminal opening delivering an objective of reducing commercial risk and outturn costs. Following T5 opening, he also led the close out of the entire project including transition into operations. Prior to this, he led the acquisition of a five year framework for main contractors to deliver projects in the £2.5 bn commodity portfolio as part of BAA's capital engagement strategy.

Prior to joining BAA, Tony spent a number of years working at the German Industrial Group Linde AG in a number of senior management capacities within their UK shop equipment contracting business. As UK Operations Manager, he led the integration of the UK business into the US group Carrier Corporation following acquisition. In his role, he transformed the business from a high volume individual project based operation into a programme and logistics operation centred around a dedicated ERP system and other support processes.

In Tony's earlier career, he worked at Siemens UK in their utilities contracting division in a number of high profile Project and Programme Management roles. He is a chartered engineer by profession and originally started his career as an apprentice electrician for Ford UK at their Halewood Operations.

He is also experienced in implementing Project Management and Construction Control systems for facilities, telecommunications, power, infrastructure, and petrochemical projects. Experience with DTRA/DCMA/FAR, IMF, World Bank, EBRD, and Asian Bank policies and tendering.

Mark Bunyan is the head of projects controls for the Land Domain with Defence Equipment & Support which responsible for equipping and supporting the armed forces. He has been responsible for standing up the function and has functional responsibility (processes, tools and people) for c350 staff working across c300 projects.

Known globally as The Risk Doctor, Dr David Hillson is a thought-leader and expert practitioner who speaks and writes widely on risk management. David has a well-deserved reputation as an excellent speaker and presenter on risk. His talks blend thought-leadership with practical application, presented in an accessible style that combines clarity with humour, guided by the Risk Doctor motto: "Understand profoundly so you can explain simply". David has advised major organisations, governments and charities in over fifty countries on how to create value from risk using applied risk-based thinking, and his wisdom and insights are in high demand. David has received many awards for his ground-breaking work in risk management, and he has developed significant innovations that are now widely accepted as best practice.

Chris has nearly 30 years experience in project and programme management within the public and private sectors. His first job on leaving university saw him work on the Channel Tunnel and Eurostar terminal at Waterloo which gave him a thirst for working on very large projects.

Since then he has worked in the defence sector on programmes including training and simulation, future submarines, helicopters and communications and information systems.

Chris has worked as a management consultant for over 6 years with BMT and spent much of his time helping clients to develop and manage PMOs. He is actively involved with the Association of Project Managers (APM) and is currently an Assurance Special Interest Group (SIG) committee member. Chris enjoys cycling and hiking as well as baking cakes. He would be pleased to meet with you at the event to discuss any aspect of his work, sharing advice and tips. Denise is the Executive Director of the Major Projects Association (MPA) and Professor of Engineering Project Management at the University of Leeds. The purpose of the MPA is to improve the initiation and delivery of major projects through the interaction of members from all sectors in sharing experience, knowledge and ideas. She is a member of the Infrastructure Client Group, Chair of the Capacity Building and Professionalism Panels and member of Council at the Institution of Civil Engineers and a member of at all party Parliamentary Group on Smart Cities. Denise was a judge for the prestigious Wolfson Economics Prize 2014 which is the second largest economics prize after the Nobel Prize and she was a member of Construction Industry Strategy Advisory Council that wrote Construction 2025 (an industrial strategy for the construction sector); the Infrastructure State of the Nation Scorecard Steering Group and the IUK Cost Review Steering Group.

Denise has worked in collaboration with IPA (formerly IUK) to develop a "Project Initiation Routemap€ (Routemap) to enable more informed project and programme initiation and delivery decisions. It is aimed primarily at the sponsor and client organisations that deliver major projects and programmes, long term capital investment plans and publicly procured mega-projects. Application of the Routemap on projects such as Crossrail, the Environment Agency's Thames Estuary project and Flood and Coastal Risk Management programme, HS2, London Underground's Station Stabilisation, Vauxhall Station and New Tube Programmes, Network Rail's ETCS and Digital Railway programmes, Surrey County Council's highways maintenance programme and Anglian Water's AMP6 infrastructure investment strategy have demonstrated the potential for significant savings. The same principles have been successfully applied to the NHS Integrated Digital Records Programme, the Successor Nuclear Submarine programme and NSARE.

Denise also has expertise in the articulation and development of engineering, project management and intelligent client competency. A commission from the Highways Maintenance Efficiency Programme (DfT) highlighted the challenges faced by Local Authorities due to the changing nature of their delivery environment. She co-authored the Institution of Civil Engineers post professional review competency framework and their Intelligent Client Competency Framework.

Denise has very strong links across the academic community collaborating on teaching and research activities. She has published widely in academic journals and authored and co-authored key text books on the subject of engineering project management.

She was awarded an OBE in 2018.

Neil is a quantity surveyor and project manager with twenty-five years professional experience working for clients, contractors and consultants on a wide range of building, civil engineering and utilities projects and programmes. He specialises in the development of procurement and contract strategies, the management and production of procurement and contract documents, and the provision of procurement, contractual and commercial advice.

Over the years Neil has worked on construction projects and programmes valued from a few tens of thousands through to billions of pounds, and has practical experience of working with GC/Works, ICE, IChemE, JCT, NEC and PFI contracts.

He is a recognised expert in NEC contracts and has provided training and consultancy services for the publishers of the NEC contracts for the last 12 years. He has authored numerous articles and regularly presents at conferences on the subject of NEC. Neil is highly regarded by his peers and was pleased to see a number of his proposals for improvements to the contracts find their way into the new NEC4 contracts that were published in 2017. Through his work across many different sectors of industry over the years he has built up an extensive practical knowledge of NEC contracts and how to set them up and manage them in order to improve the likelihood of successful outcomes for project and services.

Mark is a former AWE apprentice. He took the decision to leave the company in 2001 to pursue opportunities elsewhere and subsequently held senior project controls positions in several companies including UKAEA Ltd and Jacobs Engineering, working on varied projects in both the civil and defence nuclear sectors. Happily, Mark returned to AWE in 2016 as a Senior Business Manager and has more recently stepped into the challenging role of Stockpile Business Controller. Mark holds an MBA from Henley Management College and is a member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). In his spare time Mark enjoys DIY and spending time out in the countryside with his wife, son and two dogs.

Project Director with 16+ years of construction and design management experience in major public and private infrastructure projects in UK, Australia, and MESA. As a front-end delivery practitioner, he is passionate about increasing the role of the controls profession within project and programme management disciplines and can be often found in office corridors delivering sermons on implementing the right kind of controls

Saurabh is also the author of Mott MacDonald’s Controls service practice standard ‘Pathfinder PACE’ and provides expert guidance to Clients for towards implementing, and optimising Integrated Control approaches that make projects and Programs succeed. He has led and participated in delivery of many award-winning projects, including Cumbria Infrastructure Recovery Programme, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Stoke BSF, Heathrow Airport and ascribes his team’s success to taking care of the minutiae and always having a plan B.

Richard is a Director level Programme Manager, specialising in PMO, controls and governance of major projects, programmes and portfolios. He is the Head of Project Controls and a Technical Director within Wood's environment and infrastructure solutions business. In addition to this leadership role he specialises in the development of new PMO / controls functions, and management of the associated business change, reinvigorating failing examples or leading PMO's on major deliveries / portfolios as required.

His experience consists of both consultancy and active delivery in senior management roles PMO's for both change and BAU initiatives, Richard has international experience across multiple industries, including construction, infrastructure, airports, utilities, pharmaceuticals and banking. This includes large capex portfolios of £100m+ per year and single delivery programmes of £3.5bn value.

Geoff Roberts is a Chartered Cost Engineer with more than 35 years of experience in all aspects of project management and project controls. He has been with Oracle Construction and Engineering for 17 years and is currently Director, Strategy (Energy), providing strategic direction, domain expertise and insight around Asset Intensive industries and how they operate to both internal and external customers.

In addition he provides input into the solutions we deliver to our customers ensuring what we offer is best in class and able to support how these organisations deliver projects to time, cost, quality, safely from inception through to scope definition, FID approval, execution, operations and decommissioning. During his time at Oracle he has worked with many of the major Utilities and Oil, Gas and Petrochemical organisations across the globe.

Michael is a Director in Enstoa's global Strategy & Consulting practice. An experienced software engineer and project management professional, Michael applies systems engineering principles to the planning and execution of complex projects. With years of experience in software & systems development, Michael's passion for analysis is grounded in data and aims to uncover actionable intelligence in Capital Programs. In additional to his B.S. in Mathematics from the University of California, and M.S. in Computer Science from the California State University, Michael has an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University.

Michael Matosin is a machine learning, data science, and mathematical programming specialist at Enstoa. Michael leverages state-of-the-art analytic models and methods to inform key business decisions and drive organizational value. A significant focus of his work is in reducing complex business phenomena to a mathematical framework with an eye towards optimizing systems and processes and delivering dynamic, best-in-class solutions.

Richard Wood has been designing and delivering efficiency improvements in asset management processes of all kinds for over 20 years. Currently working for Safran Software Solutions as CEO, Richard was previously responsible for global business development. Safran has pioneered a new breed of risk analysis software, and an approach that integrates risk analytics and risk thinking across a project intensive organisation.

Andrew Langridge is the Director of Business Development for Europe at ARES PRISM. In this role, he is responsible for delivering Estimation and Project Controls solutions across a wide range of industries and applications. Andrew started his career as an apprentice mechanical engineer working in a bespoke machine tool company in London. After completing a 5-year technical apprenticeship, he moved into advanced manufacturing supervision and management roles. For the last 25 years, Andrew has been working in the field of Estimation and Project Controls supporting the implementation of best in class processes and solutions for organizations across many industries. Andrew is a Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor at the University of Bath involved in developing thought leadership for the next generation of solutions. He is also a Visiting Fellow at Cranfield University and a Fellow of the Association of Cost Engineers.

Martin van Vliet has a career with over 20 years of experience in the Cost Engineering profession, providing services around estimating, planning, project controls to improve Projects Performance. With Hexagon PPM, Martin leads the EcoSys Business Development team in Europe. His primary role consists of planning, managing, executing strategy to optimize Hexagon's market position in the global project controls market.

Prior to Hexagon, Martin spent most of his career with Cost Engineering Consultancy, as Business Director, responsible for building and maintaining networks and approaching new leads, prospects and existing customers to strengthen the company's order portfolio for the software and consultancy department.

Todd joined Battelle's Program Management Office in 2011 where he directs project management support to over 300 project managers executing approximately 1,000 concurrent projects. This responsibility includes establishing training for project managers, developing scalable policies and processes, and supporting project managers with state-of-the art tools.

Prior to the PMO, Battelle's Software development group, which developed custom software and performed IT services for a variety of government and commercial customers. This group developed CMMI Level 3-compliant processes and executed software development lifecycles ranging from SCRUM to Waterfall.

Todd holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and a MS in Computer Information Science from the Ohio State University.

25 years of project management and tools experience from the oil and gas industry on the Norwegian continental shelf and internationally. Co-founded Promineo AS in 2002, developed the company in to the 8th fastest growing technology company in Norway in 2006 and has made it today's front runner in digitalization of the project staffing process.

Maryna is a Senior Risk Manager at Mott MacDonald Ltd and leads multiple initiatives of technical excellence across the risk discipline. She has extensive experience within infrastructure Project/Programme Risk management particularly in Transportation sector (e.g. Aviation, Rail, Port, Highways). She holds a BSc in Applied Mathematics and a MSc in Risk Management. Maryna is passionate about quantitative risk assessment and data analysis and benefits it brings to delivering project predictably.

Alan, a Chartered Civil Engineer by background, leads the Complex Project Analytics growth priority in PwC's Capital Project and Infrastructure team. Utilising over 17 years industry experience Alan has developed new analytics propositions which help clients make better use of their project data to drive efficiency and delivery improvements into their projects. This creative approach to the project environment and analysis of disparate data brings bespoke offerings that address specific client challenges, covering areas such as: communications analysis, people pattern analysis, delivery efficiency and leading indicators. His focus is on creating a rich capital project data environment that can deliver more enhanced insights and efficiency opportunities to his clients before the issues are evident. The outcomes for the clients include longer term cost reduction and transformation initiatives, that, in a recent case, identified and delivered £23m savings in risk allocation for a major programme in a very short period of time.

Ben is a Principal Risk Consultant at QinetiQ. He has over 15 years experience in the defence and construction industries, having worked on a diverse range of £bn projects for a variety of companies including Hinkley Point C and the UK Deterrent. Ben has extensive experience in a range of project controls functions, including scheduling, risk management, project controls and change management. He specialises in Risk Management improvement and transformation as well as quantitative risk analysis techniques.

Ben is currently heading Risk Management transformation and improvement for a £500m QinetiQ programme. He is passionate about ensuring risk management approaches are pragmatic, realistic, proportionate and value-adding to an organisation's decision makers.

Iain is a highly knowledgeable Chartered Engineer with experience in practical project management, project controls and cost engineering, across construction, civil engineering, rail and highways sectors. In a varied career he has worked Contractor side, ultimately as a site Agent; client side, acting as controls manager on large infrastructure projects; for a cost management software vendor; and also for a subcontractor.

The combined perspectives give Iain some insights into common, and sometimes conflicting, goals of each party in the supply chain. He will be drawing on those insights and experience to explore the approach and key success factors which should be present in any capital programme team which is seeking to integrate electronic data, including BIM (digital design data) to maximise the commercial opportunities for all parties, and reduce the challenges.

Dave is a hugely experienced and acknowledged by Oracle as a leading UK expert in architecting, delivering and implementing Oracle Primavera EPPM product set solutions, including integrations with ERP systems and other third party toolsets, in a variety of industry sectors. Dave works for RPCuk, this year's Project Controls Expo Platinum Sponsor.

Pete has substantial experience of project and programme control process definition, creating integrated documentation and data baselines for strategic programmes and multi-programme environments. He has led the transformation of Programme Controls across all dimensions of process, people, toolsets and data for Clients and demonstrates effective consultancy and influencing skills within previous leadership and team member roles for capability management transformation projects. Pete also has extensive experience in skills transfer as coach, mentor and trainer with a legacy of creating and enhancing capability of Client staff.

Ken has experience in managing complex projects and programmes across a range of sectors, including process engineering, power, marine and defence. He is currently managing a corporate transformation, aimed at enhancing the business's P3M capability. Ken is a Member of the APM and a Chartered Engineer.

Charlie Woodley is a Director with HKA, one of the world's leading providers of advisory, claims and dispute services for the construction, manufacturing, process and technology industries. He has over 20 years industry experience and is an established informatics specialist with a focus on strategic digital advisory and analytical problem solving on complex, high value claims or disputes. He advises stakeholders and expert teams on the opportunity and risk of project data and how to best leverage data to inform strategic decision-making, optimise efficiency and improve outcomes. He has been instructed as a data expert in international arbitration, and provides digitally enabled expert assistance to HKA's claims and dispute teams worldwide - overcoming the challenges of timeously aggregating and structuring records to evidence or rebut claims for time or money. In addition, Charlie is responsible for CRUX, HKA's integrated causation research programme.

Andrew has worked in Project, Programme and Portfolio management and Assurance for 20 years, most recently as Portfolio Director for the Building Safety Programme, established after the Grenfell Fire tragedy. His experience of Government Departments and the way they work is extensive. Andrew has spent most of his career applying Project Controls in a policy environment and has fascinating insights into the challenges of applying these approaches in situations that may not at first lend themselves to Project Controls but when they are applied, can be transformed.

Clare Toogood is the Youth Justice Policy lead for the Ministry of Justice, she has led the Youth Justice Reform Programme following the publication of Charlie Taylor's review of the Youth Justice System and the Government's response which was published in December 2016. This is a complex social reform programme of change to fundamentally change the approach to Youth Justice in England and Wales. Prior to working in Youth Justice Clare was Head of the Public Defender Service (PDS), which included responsibility for setting up the PDS Advocacy Unit. Clare's previous roles include Area Business Manager for the Crown Prosecution Service and in local government.

Simon is currently the Strategy & Planning lead within DWP Estates. Previously he led the property transactions workstream during the exit from PRIME and ensured lease negotiations were completed successfully on 800 properties. Simon was also part of the Senior Leadership Team leading the whole project.

Rebecca is a public sector leader who carved her career in the Treasury before moving on to leadership roles closer to the sharp end of delivery. She specialises in building teams and organisations whose subject areas are in the centre of the public gaze: Europe at the launch of the euro; health spending in the early 2000s; climate change policy at the time of the Stern review and the UK Climate Change Act in 2005, counter-terrorism after 7/7 and now policing and crime in London, making a reality of the Mayor's new powers to oversee the Met Police and invest in services which support victims and reduce offending.

Versatile across both public and private sectors, with skills from a formative early spell in the banking sector, she uses her roles on boards or as SROs of programmes to drive change, across a wide range of areas including:

- sustainable change in the European Investment Bank, during her time as a director on its board;

- digital security, as founder and Chair of the London Digital Security Centre

- director of Police Crime Prevention Initiatives

- Senior Responsible Officer for Child House, where, for the first time in the UK, medical, advocacy, social care, police and therapy services will be available for children under one roof, so that children will quickly receive the support to rebuild their lives after abuse.

She is a passionate advocate of volunteering, setting up a parents group to support the establishment of a local school in Hammersmith and becoming its first community governor, and has built partnerships across West London to bring young people from all backgrounds into politics and public life.

Senior-level IT professional with government and commercial experience and proven track record of applying appropriate, practical technology/mix of technologies that meet business needs while minimizing risks. I have over Over 20 years of experience within all sectors of Technology at a Senior Level.

He is currently working as the Director of Technology Services at the Ministry of Justice
delivering transformational IT projects that improve front line services. Richard is also studying as part of the Cabinet Office led Major Programme Leadership Academy at Said Business School at Oxford University.

Cedi Frederick is owner and Managing Director of Article Consulting Ltd and CEO of La Nova Group.Article works with and supports health and social care organisations and leaders and La Nova Group provides specialised, person-centred experiences and programmes that are tailored to meet client need.

In a 40 year career in the public, Not-for-Profit and private sector, Cedi has held a series of senior positions in the housing association and local authority sectors, including four years as Managing Director of a BME Housing Association, twelve years as Chief Executive of a multi-regional charity that supported people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health problems.This experience was followed by over five years as Chief Executive of a charity that cared for and supported over 3000 people a year through its older people, children, young people and families services and employed nearly 2500 staff.

Cedi has over 25 years' experience as a member of the Boards of several housing related national governing bodies, housing associations, charities and voluntary organisations. This experience includes over 9 years as Non-Executive Director of a specialist mental health Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and 8 years as a Governor of a University.Cedi is currently a Non-Executive Director of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust and IWE (Enfield), a Local Authority Trading Company as well as holding a number of voluntary roles.

A former England men's international basketball player and coach, Cedi has been named on four separate occasions as one of Britain's 100 Most Influential Black People; described as '... an unsung hero of the Third Sector, who has changed as many lives in his life outside of work as he has in his job'.In 2015, Cedi was recognised as one of the '1,000 Black & Asian Heroes 1950-2010 by Our Heritage TV

Cedi is married to Sue, and they have two sons and three grandchildren.

Frank is an experienced and successful commercial project leader and board-level adviser whose track record includes programme management, commercial advice, project oversight business development, corporate recovery and project director roles. His experience covers a number of sectors including, retail, waste, commercial office, residential, education, mobile telecoms, property development, sports, central government and water treatment. He is a Quantity Surveyor by background and holds an MBA from Strathclyde.
His key strength is around building teams of advisers and partners to create entrepreneurial solutions to complex challenges that work and which clients can buy into.
 

Ruchi Singh is Director of Kaleidoscope Transformation; a boutique consultancy specialising in social transformation strategy. She has advised and delivered radical transformation strategies for clients as diverse as MoJ, MoD, HMT, HS2, FCA and MHCLG Post Grenfell Building Safety Programme to name but a few. She is currently leading on the mobilisation of the Mayor of London's Violence Reduction unit.

After a career in management consultancy working for companies such as Ernst & Young, PwC and IBM, Ruchi joined HM Treasury in 2005. There she supported delivery of the Treasury efficiency reviews on the Departments of Health, Justice and HMRC. In 2008 Ruchi joined the National Offender Management Service (NOMS) where she led on efficiency and transformation initiatives including negotiations with police constabularies and the MoD (Ministry of Defence) on to establish contingency mechanisms in runes if crisis and the reconfiguration of the prison estate to improve outcomes for offenders while maintaining value for money.

She has also worked closely with the NHS and Public Health England co-commissioning bodies to develop mutually beneficial commissioning strategies.

Lizzie is an experienced project and programme manager and consultant with a particular interest and track record in leading the delivery of collaborative projects to deliver social benefits. Lizzie has worked predominantly to deliver change in the policing and criminal justice field, working with central and local government, the Metropolitan Police and currently the London Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC). Recent programmes have included successful national collaborations between practitioners, government, professional bodies and academics to support the professionalisation of policing. Lizzie also advises third sector organisations on project management.

Christine is the Head of Profession for Project Controls in Nuclear. She has spent over 17 years in the Project Controls arena covering both cost and planning execution (the last twelve years being employed by Wood). She has worked in Utilities, Oil & Gas and Nuclear. She is a Fellow of the ACostE and elected member of their Council. She currently leads a Project Controls team of over 80 individuals working in various locations throughout the UK, which she has built over the last two years. She has excellent commercial, financial and business acumen. She was appointed in 2017 by IFA (Institute for Apprenticeships) as a route panel member for Business and Administration as an industry expert.

She is experienced in bidding and in project execution for FEED, EPC and PMC contracts of major refining, petrochemicals, LNG and nuclear projects, which are often multi-country/entity and multi-currency, varying in size from multi-billions to less than one hundred thousand pounds. She has held senior roles in both Cost and Planning on mega EPC projects.

She is an ECITB accredited trainer and is registered as an Assessor for the ECITB. She has written both Cost and Planning modules for the ECITB to be used by other companies for training which covered EVM, CBS, WBS, progress measurement, change control, risk management (cost and schedule), trending and forecasting outcomes, contingencies and sensitivity analysis, cash flow, setting budgets and baselines, resource management. She has written, implemented and delivered both Cost, Planning and Commercial Training both internal and to Clients in Commercial Awareness, Cost Control, Change Control, Value Engineering and Risk Awareness.

Richard is a Director level Programme Manager, specialising in PMO, controls and governance of major projects, programmes and portfolios. He is the Head of Project Controls and a Technical Director within Wood's environment and infrastructure solutions business. In addition to this leadership role he specialises in the development of new PMO / controls functions, and management of the associated business change, reinvigorating failing examples or leading PMO's on major deliveries / portfolios as required.

His experience consists of both consultancy and active delivery in senior management roles PMO's for both change and BAU initiatives, Richard has international experience across multiple industries, including construction, infrastructure, airports, utilities, pharmaceuticals and banking. This includes large capex portfolios of £100m+ per year and single delivery programmes of £3.5bn value.

Alan is a Chartered Construction Manager, Chartered Quantity Surveyor, RICS Accredited Expert Witness and Director within Arcadis' forensic delay team. He has over 17 years of experience working at all levels of the construction industry. Prior to joining Arcadis, Alan held senior professional roles in major building and infrastructure projects, including quantity surveyor, planning/programming consultant, contracts administrator and claims manager. He commenced his career on site working as a carpenter.

Patricia joins us from Australia where she worked for 10 years holding a variety of executive roles in Programme Controls, latterly with United Group Ltd (UGL), which was one of Australia's largest construction companies. She has over 25 years major project and programme management experience globally, including over 18 years in senior roles with engineering leader, Bechtel.

Patricia is a Six Sigma practitioner, speaker and panellist. Her senior level key skills cover project controls, risk management, claims management, quality control and assurance, oversight and governance, program and portfolio, and project management of large and complex programmes and projects.

Patricia loves to spend time with her husband David and their eight year old son, Henry; cooking, travelling, and enjoying the company of friends and family.

Gordon is PMO Director for High Speed Two, a new high speed railway to better connect people across Britain

With over 15 years' experience building and managing successful programme environments, Gordon began his career in the defence sector followed by the opportunity to join and then lead the Programme Assurance Office for London 2012's Olympic Delivery Authority. Gordon spent 3 and a half years as a consultant supporting major infrastructure programmes for Highways England, Sellafield Limited and London Underground before joining HS2 Ltd in 2017

Stewart Jones is an experienced Senior Leader with over 30 years experience of working on major regulated capital programmes. Currently Stewart is the PMO Director for Highways England's Regional Investment Programme, a £7bn programme of over 70 road widening, bypass and junction improvement schemes across England. Previously he was Project Controls Director for Mace on the Silos Direct Encapsulation Project. He spent 23 years working at United Utilities in various Project Management and Programme Management roles and was Head of the PMO between 2011 and 2015. A key focus of his leadership is establishing strong teams and developing people. In leading Project Control and PMO teams he makes it a priority to ensure they are seen as value adding teams, providing active assurance and advice and enabling early management intervention, not simply a reporting function.

As Commercial Project Lead for the Dutch Transmision System Operator, Roel Cornelisse is responsible for the overall success of the first Dutch offshore wind connections in the Dutch national EUR 4 billion program for the offshore wind energy transition. Using experiences from former projects of connecting 700MW of offshore power to the German grid and building several onshore grid connections, he used his extensive interest for project controls during his career in the energy industry. He has 15 years of experience working in mega projects environments.

Chris Anstead is Turner & Townsend's Programme Advisory lead in the UK, and is responsible for the all products Turner & Townsend bring to the Infra-structure sector. Chris has worked for Turner & Townsend now for 12 years, initially as a PMO and Controls subject matter expert. Chris has an overall 20 plus years background in Natural Resources, Real Estate and Infrastructure sectors, having worked extensively in Europe and Australia

Martin Paver, Data Scientist, Registered Project Professional, Chartered Engineer, BEng, MBA, MAPM, MIMechE, is CEO of Projecting Success Ltd. and Founder of the London Project Data Analytics meetup. Martin is a Registered Project Professional with the APM and a Chartered Engineer with the IMechE. He is the CEO/Founder of a P3M and data science consultancy called Projecting Success who help project organisations to connect and understand their data for a more certain, evidence-driven project delivery by analysing historical and real-time data to discover insights and make recommendations with improved confidence in outcomes. He has 30 years of delivery experience spanning senior strategic roles across government and the private sector, led projects of up to $1bn, both client and supply side and he also led a PMO for a $multi-billion portfolio of ICT projects. In late 2017 Martin established the London Project Data Analytics Meetup, the UK's largest community that combines the cutting edges of data science and project management ranging from hosting talks, delivering hackathons through to influencing future thinking on project data science. He is on a mission to leverage the benefits of advanced data science for the benefit of the project management profession, ensuring that we shape the direction of the industry and prepare us for a new future.
